Follow in the footsteps of pilgrims through the wild forests of Dalsland
You arrive in the afternoon and check in to Upperud 9:9, a unique and modern family run hotel in a building with a 100-year history as a granary. You are served a delicious meal based on local and seasonal ingredients. The five rooms are elegantly nestled into the old silos and designed as compact studios on two floors. Some have ladders that take you upstairs. They all have four beds, small kitchen and bathroom – find your favourite!
After a good night sleep and genuine breakfast it is time to strap on your boots and hike off on the trail with a lunch pack in your bag. This part of the trail is described as medium difficult, it is rather hilly and in forest terrain far from any settlement. You walk up a hill and take in the views, continue to a shelter by a lake. There are many places for wild swimming along the trail. One back you are treated to a hot relaxing sauna overlooking the lake and another delicious hot meal in the restaurant.
